Federal Lobbying Creates Recession

We the People Own this country and this Government.

Does it get any clearer? Sure, "Big Business" built the Railroads sparking commerce, industries build new cities, and represent progress. But the people have had to fight for Safety Regulations, Pollution Regulations, the health of ourselves and our kids, and for fair trade to prevent monopolies and price setting that held people back from success. "Big Business" is an entity that grows and competes to succeed big against any and all opposition. We can't allow "Big Business" to persuade our Government and write our laws...and don't even get me started about limits on "Foriegn Lobbying".

Federal Lobbying Creates Recession is my twist on the problem of Middle Class Lobby that doesn't exist for the most part. I know we have lobbies for "Retirees" and "Unions", but big business and the rich just have more resources.
  • Oversight is the management of US Industries by Federal Agencies as part of their mandate.
  • Oversight is completed at various levels of government by collecting data, regulations, and through interface with government through Federal Application Processes.
  • Oversight is performed by Congress, Senate, the Federal Reserve Chairman, SEC, and many others at lower levels of Government including State and County Government.

Obviously with the Corporate Scandals and Lobbying Scandals every couple of years, no one has worked the problem with any sincerity at the Federal Level. But we the people own this country and this Federal Government.

  • When are we going to demand that Government Work for us Middle Class and Poor.

Obama's Inheritance and Agency Implementation

The Deeper You Dig, The bigger the Problems facing the USA.

The Follow up on Federal Spending and Legislative Implementation is "Poor" in the USA. We overspend and agencies don't perform what we think they should i.e. the SEC, the Federal Chairman and the Secretary of Treasury. Federal Contractors know how the system works and know how to expand and become important Contractors with bigger roles/missions in our country. U.S. agencies and Congressmen know how to do this too. In fact it is a law of nature that men and women will seek security and larger pieces of the pie for which they compete. The SEC should have been expanded decades ago, but we trusted the banking sector to regulate themselves...In a sense we "Out-Sourced" the banking sector.

Question: Don't you think we could have spent Federal Trap/Bailout money to stand by home mortgages to reassure investors holding mortgage paper. That would have made the people all over the world feel safer with the investment derivatives.

Clearly, the state of the union needs to be examined with a focus on realism that George W. did not provide. Many of our National U.S. problems are really National Security issues now. I'm not talking about torture or phone taps just yet...I am talking about Energy Policy, Pursuit of Alternative Energy, Foreign Policy, First Strike War Policy, Use of the State Department and U.S. Embassies, Federal Regulation of U.S. Industries that did not regulate themselves such as Insurance, banking, and Financial Brokerages, Foreign Trade Deficit Policy, Federal subsidies to all industries, Federal Budget Accounts with Deficits such as Medicare and Social Security, the Federal Tax System, Iraq War, and on and on and on.

The more you look to the new President's Administration for reforms you realize that the U.S. Congress and Senate don't provide oversight of the implementation and administration of legislation and budget dollars. When you find yourself fed up with big federal systems like our tax code you should realize big complex systems should be eliminated to save administrative costs and no value added to our economy. Big Federal Systems exist everywhere.

Obama's Inheritance beyond the Iraq War is an ineffective if not bloated Federal Government. There is plenty for the Federal Government to focus on without telling individual Americans how to live their lives or without telling Federal Agencies what to spend their budget money on. Delegate and then hold Agencies responsible for implementation or requesting guidance. Then demand the three branches of Federal Government immediately respond with guidance or interpretation of Federal Law.

Clearly the early Vision of the Obama Presidency must include pristine ethics, Constitutional Rights for all People, and a "Jaundiced Eye" on the Economy, Subsidies, Imports, Big Business, Budget Spending, Banking Reform, Efficiency of Federal Budget, Accountability, and Federal Lobby Reform.

Old Question: Is the US Voter uninformed or ignorant of issues and candidates

Old Question from studies in 1950, 1960, 1976, 1996: Is the US Voter uninformed or ignorant of issues and candidates. How does the American Voter select his vote for US President?

The premise discussed is can the electorate select the right candidate even when individuals can be uninformed in so many ways...whether the incumbent has power over troubles in an individuals life, whether the good works of an incumbent early in the presidency will be remembered, ability to see more than the here and now that troubles the individual, ability to see beyond past party affiliations or alliances, ability to see beyond campaign messages on TV or slams at campaign opponents.

what I get out of this article is that individuals can't really pick the right candidate for themselves and their own values or interests. However, it is not likely that a coin toss will produce better results. In the case of US Presidential Elections money spent in the final weeks of the campaign for TV ads will sway many voters. And many voters will decide their vote on stereotypes, or by campaign ads. The studies performed seem to point to enduring voter ignorance.

Article Sited "How smart is the American voter?
The electorate as a whole may be wiser and more rational than any individual."

Good Economic Policy, Good Foreign Policy, Good Trade Policy

Good Economic Policy, Good Foreign Policy, Good Trade Policy is based in drawing distinct lines of behavior that are acceptable versus compromising policy by making exceptions for industries and for certain corporations. Business Ethics compels any good administrator to abide by minimum standards. The USA for 25-35 years used tax abatement and perks to industries. This is probably the history of hiring illegals as well. So we have a number of points that have to be built in to economic, foreign, and trade policies:
-Human nature is that some politicians and corporate executives will seek power for power's sake.
-Human nature will always take a subsidy/bounty and prepare not to compete with the market, but will prepare to get the bounty/subsidy.
-If there is more money out of the country in terms of trade, investment, off shore banking, monetary leakage, competing industries, national resources, national energy needs, ...than flowing into a country then you have a problem that will burn you.
-If you sell off your countries military technology, or buy your main source of energy overseas then you have a National Security Problem.
-If you don't prepare with Alternative Energy Investment or "new" Technology or "New Science" then you put your country at a disadvantage.
-Research and Development is cheap and universities are cheap places to leverage the American Inventiveness compared to the cost of crisis management.
-If labor is cheaper overseas then the US must sponsor new engineering, new industries, or new growth areas of science through cheap competitions and cheap study grants at colleges and universities.
-Level the trade playing field if you have low industry wages overseas. Politics has never been that productive and usually costs the country in reputation politically...i.e. Chile, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Vietnam. Don't tax our industry while giving preferred trading status to China or Asia.
-Realize the cost of immigration in terms of American Infrastructure, health care, education, legal system, lost jobs, loss of knowledge, loss of skill, and ...in terms of US Dollars that flow to Mexico along with other nationalities that send US money out of the country ...Cuba, China, Poland, Russia, ETC.
-Protect the Value of the US Dollar from excessive US Federal Debt and other type of US Debt since all foreign financiers of the USA will look at the US Economy, wages, GNP/GDP, the health of our financial institutions, the health of our oil industry, the health and wealth of our baby boomers in retirement, total US Federal Debt, total US Trade Deficit, total unfunded budget requirements of $53 Trillion with $10 Trillion Federal Debt while just paying interest.
-Pre-emptive Strikes and War are not foreign policies. We have a US State Department that is full of careerist diplomats and embassies that can do without war.
-We can use military strength to kick butt even tomorrow, but we should save the cost to the nation till we are forced to us it...otherwise we risk losing too much American Wealth.

SEC Blame for US Financial Crisis

SEC Blame For Financial Crisis...?
Yes, while I have blamed the Federal Government for Bank and Loan Regulations since problems in the 1970s, I have to add SEC decision 2004 For Financial Crisis. According to David Cay Johnston, (the Book) "Free Lunch", the SEC reduced the amount of cash Investment Banks had to keep on hand in relation to Debt(or loans). This seems to indicate that either the SEC did not go to business school or did not believe in standard accounting practices (GAP:General Accounting Practices?).
Anyway there may be evidence that in 2006 evidence of financial problems was growing although the SEC did not monitor banks records on risk as required by this "New Regulation/Guidance". In fact the SEC did not even hire a Director for the organization that had the governmental responsibility. In all likelihood it was an underfunded effort by the SEC. But as I understand it (from previous scandals) the SEC was only funded for less than 200 full time workers in its normal budget for monitoring all American Public Corporations.

Blame the US GOVT. plus the SEC

Blame the US GOVT. plus the SEC...according to David Cay Johnston, (The Book) "Free Lunch", the SEC held a board meeting and reduced the amount of cash a banking corporation must hold in accounts in relation to its obligations (Debt/Loans). The result is that many organizations now hold only 1 to 30 ratio of cash to debt/loans. So who do we blame for tax dollars spent
-Obama
-McCain
-Senate and House of Representatives, the President,
-General Accounting Office as far as no one listened to their audits or recommendations.
-Lobbyists
-CEOs & CFO (Chief Financial Officers) of Financial Organizations
-Globalization
-Politics as usual
-Status Quo thinking
-Culture of Subsidies or Bounties paid by the government to corporations, industries, Financial Organizations, Major Corporations, Housing and Construction Interests, etc.,
-Culture of "big Business" represents the Economy and is national security privileged interest.
-Some strange twist of logic that made the US government want to allow sale of "National Interest" technology corporations to foreign companies.
-Election Cycle in Washington that makes our representatives focus on re-election more than borrowing from "Social Security Plans" and paying and funding only the interest on our long term obligations/debts (INSTEAD OF PAYING OFF THE DEBT)
-Bizarre Idea of bringing American culture to the Middle East and saying it is teaching democracy instead of a "Police Action"(Democracy in a tribe?).
-Strategic War instead of investing in alternative energy research, competitions, university programs, experimental projects.
-Trying to do what we laughed at the Russians for doing in Afghanistan even though we go about it differently(the Russians and Osama Bin Ladin have to be laughing at us now).
-Trying to do anything that looks anything like Vietnam(Iraq).
-Ignoring and not understanding what our Federal Budget looks like, shortfalls, grants and subsidies, unfair trade relationships, exporting military technology, Trade Deficit, Deficit Spending, what we call "Debt Service" instead of paying off the debt.
-Government with lobbyist is really Government by Lobbyists.

***What is Next is "You Don't Want to continue to bailout industries and you Don't want to continue subsidies. WE Have to end practices that empower foreign countries and weaken the USA. We have to end privileges that we extend to China as "Preferred Nation Status".***

Debate: "No Chicken in Every Pot"

No, the debate didn't change anything and wasn't revealing. And I have to clarify myself. The Bail Out by the Feds for the USA Financial Crisis is not about any problem in the American Way or the American System. There are some loop holes in the financial system that have been exploited and have put millions of Americans at risk of loss of 1) jobs 2) savings 3) retirement savings and retirement instruments like 401 (K) accounts 4) repayment of social security account debt in the near future 5) loss of American reputation as world standard for financial stability and financial standard of transparent markets 6) loss of available credit for car buyers, home buyers, new business owners, and corporations.

The "Bailout" at the top for the largest financial corporations seems like working at the wrong end. The bulk of Americans may be wondering what US Federal Taxes and the Federal Government will do to protect or help households. Where is the chicken and the security for households?

America will recover from almost everything you can imagine because the strength of Americans is to do what it takes and the economic power and wealth of American can hardly be imagined. Our economy just simply will keep on rolling no matter the small blips of job losses or banking problems.

Just look back at World War II at all we went through as a country - those values are still alive in the USA.

The debate reflects status quo - no surprise. And it is no surprise that politicians hedge and avoid clear statements. BUT all federal politicians should know from study how we all saw Neil Bush take the blame for the Saving and Loan scandal in the 1970s. There is no difference today. And today's Financial Crisis was always predictable.

I am surprised to see the lack of Economists involved and consulted by Congress and the Senate. It should be clear enough how to change the regulations that the SEC and FDIC would help to transmit to the financial industry. The issue is whether to save big business and save bad financial mangers...and finally and most important how to stay with the focus of helping the tax payer and individual Americans.

Business Ethics, Finance, Health Care, What Else?

While we are all looking at the Finance Crisis, let's ask what else do we really care about changing in the next 5-10 years in the USA? What are the main concerns in your life.

Here is a video from last year that introduces Business Ethics pretty well during an interview of John Bogle by Bill Moyers...

http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/09282007/watch.html

Systemic Financial Problems in the US

Don't let the Lobbyist Write the Legislation to fix the US Financial Scandal. And don't believe any Senator or Congressman that says they need to study the problem or form a new committee. All they need is a History book and their own library.

Some people don't get it yet. Of course individual Americans have to take responsibility for defaulting on mortgages. But the system was rigged to allow people to sign mortgages they could not pay back and mortgages they could not qualify for. The system was set up to allow all the middlemen from the mortgage and loan up through brokers and wall street firms to make money without responsibility for any defaults of loans.

It is ludicrous that the profiteers in the finance industry won't have to pay any money back and that the government will pay with our taxes for bad loans without any compensation or quid pro quo back to the tax payer or our government. Many people have gotten richer by fleecing the little people, but no one has yet really dug up all the fallout and costs to taxpayer and the whole economy.

BTW the bailout of AIG and the Financial Sector already will take the unfunded Debt in the USA to over $10 Trillion. I don't like what McCain has said about forming a committee or a board- that sounds like an expensive, slow boat to China that won't cut the mustard. We don't need a government study to fix the problem. The US has plenty of laws on the books that are either not enforced or were overturned with subsequent legislation. Our Legislators should not be allowed to play dumb and stall till lobbyist write the next plan with all the loop holes that they will need over the next decade.

Election 2008, Longterm Damage to US Financial and Economic Systems

Each of us has to vote on principles this year in the General Election/Presidential Election. Politics are continuing as normal, but even the Gen-Xers know that nothing will change in Washington. We watch TV and wait for plans and specifics of policies, but politicians hold out so that they can please the lobbies after the election. No promises to live up to. Nothing to explain when in office. Status Quo.

But what dangers exist in the budget and the unfunded programs ...and the unfunded National Debt of $10 Trillion Dollars? David Walker is the former Comptroller General of the USA. He has been trying to expose the folly of the Federal Budget and the future crash we have to expect. It doesn't matter what your age is. You will be effected by the Federal Budget and Tax burden. Currently we are only paying debt service, not paying off any of our debt. But that is not new...it is 30-40 years old as a US Policy. We use credit instead of dollars. just like we use dollars instead of gold. I know certain people only want to hear positive words when it comes to our government policy and decision...but. Hey, you laugh at people that live above their means as foolish.

One danger is evident in the falling value of the dollar overseas. Any organization that owns too much debt faces higher interest rates on loans as the value of debt increases risk. But now the foriegn countries that have been buying US Debt are now buying US Corporations and Property at discount prices due to the "Falling Dollar". Remember in the 80's when the Japanese scared so many Americans with their property ownership. It has happened before and that was when our auto industry was stronger...

Bear Sterns, Merrel Lynch, Lehman, AIG, Enron, World Com,....Keating Five, Jack Abramoff, Sub-Prime Mortgages, Financial Derivatives, failed corporations giving bonuses to executives, Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act of 2006, ...

According to Wikipedia:

The Lobbying and Disclosure Act of 1995 (2 U.S.C. 1601) was legislation aimed at bringing a level of accountability to federal lobbying practices in the United States. The law was amended substantially by the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act of 2007.[1] Under provisions which took effect on January 1, 2006, Lobbyists are required to register with the Clerk of the House of Representatives and the Secretary of the Senate. Anyone failing to do so is punishable by a civil fine of up to $50,000. The clerk and secretary must refer any acts of non-compliance to the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia.

According to Opensecrets.org

Number of Lobbyists
1998.....10,689
1999.....13,704
2000....12,760
2001....12,075
2002....12,344
2003....13,171
2004....13,416
2005....14,547
2006....15,571
2007....15,771
2008....17,107

I don't this these Lobbyist are working for you and me, except maybe the AARP. Politicians are rewarded and lauded for spending money. But there is no reward for balancing the budget, curbing federal spending, fighting earmarks, and reducing federal programs. Who will fight in Washington to fund social security, welfare, and medicare/medicaid? Who in the "Beltway" will pay off the federal debt for our children and grandchildren??

And the "News of the Day", who will implement current financial laws and reform US financial practices? The Answer: "We don't Know and We have heard no specific plans in this Election 2008".

Election 2008: Rebuilding Financial Markets, Banks, and the Economy

Make no mistake...we are stripping bare the US Economy and Banking System this week as more banks fail. The Federal Reserve (The FED) is injecting money into the banking system to increase liquidity for future loans. However I am not listing here the money injected since most of us can't understand the funds anyway. The real issue seems to be failing banks, failing investment firms like Merell Lynch and of course the risk of chaos from AIG failing. The government (The FED) is working on decision to step in and fund AIG to avoid Bankruptcy.

As these large corporations teeter on the brink and pundits gauge whether the whole economy will be struck...there is another perspective. Stock holders and investors like the American Middle Class are at risk for their retirements and savings.

There are plenty of questions Americans will be asking. Was the Federal Chairman, Mr. Greenspan or Security Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman's at fault? Was the US Congress at fault?

Election 2008, What are your most importanat issues??

Election 2008, What are your most important issues???

Health care, Iraq War, Corporate Welfare, Globalization of Jobs, Secure Borders, Immigration, Corruption, Lobbying in Washington, Federal Debt, Business Ethics, or the Economy...I've gotten tired or burned out on the war, since I anticipated that we would go into Iraq and all the implications of what that meant in humans costs and why we were going. Hopefully everyone will know by November 4th the costs to the US in terms of US Debt. Being an American seems to mean sometimes we don't worry about the cost, specific plans, success strategies, end state objects, specific milestones that need to be met, etc. America is just so rich that our budget hasn't been something that most Americans have had to worry about for more than a decade.

In my eyes we have spent too much on war and haven't planned for timely success, but rather planned for longterm occupation as a type of peace-making force.

I really have to hammer the press along with the US Congress and Senate about the lack of strategic planning and budget execution with regard to Iraq and Afghanistan.

I have a couple of provocative videos from interviews of Micheal Moore in Youtube.com. Micheal Moore gets in Wolfblitzers Face. You have to hand it too Micheal Moore for his films forecasting true trends or picking important current events 1). GM Outsourcing/Globalization in the US auto industry 2). Going to War in Iraq's human cost and questionable strategic value 3). Health Care Industry problems in the US.

You've seen the documentary news show about "Doctors without Borders Annual Visits to the USA to treat the uninsured"?

It is the Economy Stupid

US unemployment rate hit 6.1 percent, half a million US People lost their jobs in August, the total unemployed is 9.3 Million out of 154 Million workers (as per Bureau of Labor Statistics), and the C-CPI-U, Chained Consumer Price Index Urban, was 4.8 percent higher than in July 2007.

Not sure yet if it is true that oil companies don't pay any taxes at all as some political analyst are saying. If that is true, it seems hopeless to assume that corporations will act for the good of the country when it comes to job creation. And don't we need manufacturing jobs...? Preferably in alternative energy technologies like solar, wind, thermal, technology. In 1968 we were the worlds top car maker and car seller. Now what can we make in the US to replace automobiles.

Everyone is still asking these questions, right? And we know we can't be the worlds biggest seller and maker of weapons...it is unethical, right? How about designing the worlds best cities and buildings with the most technology like the bio-domes. We know the Chinese are already making nuclear power plants and hydroelectric power plants and building pipelines and oil refineries all around the globe.

Business Ethics, Right Actions, Right Thoughts

It is clear one issue this election year should be Business Ethics. We have plenty of active stories going on without even going back to lobbying scandals. Sub-prime loans and predatory business practices of credit card companies is just a symptom of what is going on all over our world.

Poor people spend money that businesses can recognize as a market to tap and poor people will use credit. I know an intelligent woman personally that got caught tapping into her home mortgage not realizing that it was the equivalent of a second mortgage. While Ohio state passed a law to cap interest rates on credit, the cap is a lofty 28%. Also now see that some hospitals are selling off private pay debt from people without health insurance converting the debt to an interest bearing financial instrument.

How can it make sense that organizations whose CEOs have lost billions or millions will pay that CEO bonuses and keep him in the organization??? Real productivity is lost country wide, Billions in Dollars evaporates from banks and corporations...and nothing is given back to the community or state. It seems that wealth is fleeing in the form of economic leakage.

150 K Protest Government in Mexico: Country is out of Balance

150,000 People Stand Up and Protest in Mexico's capital against violent crime. People finally speak for what they have been withholding. A moment like a revolution. A significantly emotional event that may be a turning point not just a moment that informs the government.

Will the government of Mexico take action on the anguish voiced from the masses of people? Some in Mexico have really woken up to action after years or decades of pain in communities or families. It is historical to see this type of mass action in any nation.

Is this a story about crime, poverty, activism, better government or the nature of all men and civilizations. Without the poverty or motivation for success, would there be the drug crime and kick-backs? Or would we still have bad violent criminals, because some men are just bad.

International Peace - Templates, Basis, Definitions

Clearly there needs to be a basis for starting talks for international peace in the Middle East. I have known for quite a while that the innuendo or culture of peace doesn't match at all to the goal that we in the USA would be looking for. Middle East Peace is a difficult task. Is it all just "Power-Plays" and innuendo or is it worse...is there a basic issue of definitions that is untenable. I can't see where tribal peoples will ever accept peace by any definition when the young will always need revenge, honor killings, armed jihad against secular government. And again it is like a replay of the UN Creation of Israel...If Palistine or Tribes need a Sharia Nation under Sharia Law then they will have to accept national boundries somewhere. Peace has to look like something and probably it will include jobs and economic activity.

I mean to point our there needs to be an international agreement on what peace looks like. There needs to be International Peace, Templates, Basis, Definitions.

Simplify Foriegn Relations to "Power-Play"

We could simplify Foreign Relations to "Power-Plays" to establish a basis of discussion in a "Democratic" nation. Clearly over the last year we have ample evidence of power-plays by Venezuela, Iran, and North Korea. Within our country it seems too often we can't even start a discussion, because the left or the right seem stuck in partisanship.

I say simplify Foreign Relations discussions to "Power-Plays" and how the USA stands for status quo rather than hegemony and empire building, and that we use sanctions to correct human rights issues rather than gunboat diplomacy. Sometimes the worlds #1 power can make a difference by making a stand ...and I don't mean with bombs. I think amnesty international should be able to appreciate this.

The National "Withhold" Against Congress & Senate

Just think with all the opinions out there from TV/Radio Hosts...We are all pretty sure the politicians either don't believe the Extreme Right or Left or...They are actively trying to paint and shape national politics with a different paradigm.

"The Withhold" is anything I could be holding back from the relationship I have with my politicians that might damage the relationship. It just seems to me the relationship is already damaged. I don't really think I have access to my Federal politicians. I am lucky though that I am not poor or have flood damaged home or suffer from competition from a subsidized business.

Communicating - "The Withhold"

Communications is always an area of growth that applies across relationship types.

I don't communicate completely in my partner relationships. If I am to learn to be honest and improve my dating situation...I have to practice opening up more. The best example of "Withholding" is sending signals to a woman that I am interested in her...and then stopping the signals. This happens sometime from when I first start thinking about her to the 4th date. I've heard this called killing off the relationship, when you just stop talking to someone ...or you stop the communications (it is not enough to be nice to another person, you have to share yourself and your thoughts). I guess that is called "Being Present" in the relationship.

It is true the worst relationship I got in was an ongoing "Power-Play" ...which is like an escalating war. This is like when the fighting results in hurt feelings that demand new defenses be built or used against the other at the next fight. Or it seems to me my partner is using everything against me to expose my weakness and take advantage of me - either to make the decisions for me, control my life, control the relationship, or maybe control my feelings so that my reality is dependant on my partner. Obviously you can chose the wrong partner. Or you can have some personality traits either to accept or work on to avoid the pit-falls. Alpha-dog behavior or Doormat behavior causes other problems. These days people seem to have both male and female type personality characteristics.

Anyway, for me to build healthy relationships will depend on me getting my thoughts on the table--Instead of me stopping the relationship. I always think of the case where the girl with the guy that is a real jerk entered into the commitment because the guy was acting or saying things he didn't mean. But in my case I suppose I need to keep up the positive thinking and positive comments to the next woman I start with. I guess that is how you decide if there is synergy/synchronicity. I mean "Keep things Positive" for a couple of months.

So anyway "The Withhold" is anything I could be holding secret that might damage the relationship. If I am holding back a judgement...I think I remenber a Relationship where I didn't like the woman's clunky, black, low heal shoes --The problem is that I think she knew I didn't like the shoes as we were walking downtown (What can I do or say about those feelings?). Another example could be like "oh, she is from such and such and she is more experienced in relationships and (therfore) she won't like me. Or she is blue collar and from the south and she just won't like me/doesn't like me enough. Or she is very educated and knows lots of smart people and she won't be interested in me/thinks I am too homey or unread or intellectually slow or that I am not goal oriented and won't do much with my life. Those are examples of judgements. ...Judgements against myself in some cases. I know this stuff, but I haven't practiced it or communicated well in dating new people.

Then again ...hey, sometimes you have to stand up and hold on to the relationship (Take a Stand). Now if I can only get some internet traffic to visit my Blog...

Objective-Setting Teaches Paradigms, Politics and the World

Money, Special Interests, and Lobbies are the problem...along with strategies without substantive policies or platforms.

Many Americans are burned-out with the General Election only Months away and no sign of clear platforms. Strategic moves by Republicans and Democrats prevents straight talk. I have wondered for 25 years or more what forum would produce lucid plans and ideas.

It would be better for all of us to work on creating a forum that forces elected officials and others to put out plans for their office...I used to believe that politicians couldn't afford the TV air time, now I just think politicians should be forced to put out substantive messages on free blocks of network or cable channels. I have to admit taking all the big money out of national politics, getting rid of foreign and corporate lobbies sounds good on the surface. And it does seem that the Middle Class doesn't have a lobby. Money is the problem and removing money is the solution. Some how everyone needs representation in the Government, but wonder if that ends up shorting somebody.

I realize that through history socialist have decried capitalism or the evils of money. I am not doing that. Transparent accounting is accepted in stock markets, financial accounting and in politics. The issue here is tracking millions of dollars in small and large donations.

US Government Budget Responsibility

This is an old story, but it is not as old as the USA.

Why are we not paying off the Federal Debt that will soon be $10 Trillion Dollars? Because there is no motivation for the US Congress and Senate to address it. The congress gets Kudos for spending money. Bigger Kudos go to congress when money is spent on the crisis of the day. The congress doesn' get paid, elected or recognized by interest groups, PACs, or lobbies for planning for this country's Future.

In Accounting in any country there are guiding principals that keep organization out of trouble with the Law. There are two kinds of Accounting laws. One is for all American Businesses and the second is for the US Federal Government.

Living Correctly - Because We Matter

It is clear that we want to live Correctly - because we matter to those that we touch.

Ideas are power. And our example in the world is observed by all our family, childeren, friends and their childeren, strangers, work mates, who ever sees us. I have to qualify that statement and say that we can never reach some people it seems. My point is that you never know the full influence that you make in the world.

The Goodness of Man is something within you that compels you to want your life to be positive and worthwhile. I beleive the Goodness of Man is within most of us. I believe this is True.

The Hussle and Bussle of being the most productive country on Earth, should not prevent us from realizing that feeling good is directly related to "Doing the Right Things" with our actions.

World News Leaves Us wanting to Live Correctly

Clearly, World News leaves us wanting to live "Correctly", because Individual and Group Interests will always look out for themselves and attempt to paint themselves in the best light. It is a matter of being passive living in ignorant bliss...or having to take action to understand what is happing with politics and the global world. Once we see the influence of Socialism, Conservatives, Liberalism, Unionism, Anti-Capitalism, Capitalism, Corruption, Power-Seeking, and Discrediting other interest groups or the common man...then we can step back and start to formulate and ponder what our Values really are.

I feel that in the University and in the Corporate world, goals and objectives are what matter the most. In fact, every organization these days evaluates their leaders and executives either based on a "buddy" level or on a "goals and objectives" level. So the common man is not the highest in the mind of people who have careers to make. True we have had unions, Ralph Nader, and the rise of Occupational Health and Safety to help look out for us. But every oganization has motivation to find cheaper labor either overseas or through automation.

So what are the rippling effects of Globalism?

Could American Immigration Enforcement and Policy now be influenced by Big Business and Global Out Sourcing?

Could Foriegn ownership of American Treasury Debt, American Corporations, American media, and American Real Estate be a National Security issue with regard to concerns with American Wealth, American jobs, American Retirement, American Inheritances, American Education, and American Infrastructure like Roads, Bridges, and Ports?
