Communicating - "The Withhold"

Communications is always an area of growth that applies across relationship types.

I don't communicate completely in my partner relationships. If I am to learn to be honest and improve my dating situation...I have to practice opening up more. The best example of "Withholding" is sending signals to a woman that I am interested in her...and then stopping the signals. This happens sometime from when I first start thinking about her to the 4th date. I've heard this called killing off the relationship, when you just stop talking to someone ...or you stop the communications (it is not enough to be nice to another person, you have to share yourself and your thoughts). I guess that is called "Being Present" in the relationship.

It is true the worst relationship I got in was an ongoing "Power-Play" ...which is like an escalating war. This is like when the fighting results in hurt feelings that demand new defenses be built or used against the other at the next fight. Or it seems to me my partner is using everything against me to expose my weakness and take advantage of me - either to make the decisions for me, control my life, control the relationship, or maybe control my feelings so that my reality is dependant on my partner. Obviously you can chose the wrong partner. Or you can have some personality traits either to accept or work on to avoid the pit-falls. Alpha-dog behavior or Doormat behavior causes other problems. These days people seem to have both male and female type personality characteristics.

Anyway, for me to build healthy relationships will depend on me getting my thoughts on the table--Instead of me stopping the relationship. I always think of the case where the girl with the guy that is a real jerk entered into the commitment because the guy was acting or saying things he didn't mean. But in my case I suppose I need to keep up the positive thinking and positive comments to the next woman I start with. I guess that is how you decide if there is synergy/synchronicity. I mean "Keep things Positive" for a couple of months.

So anyway "The Withhold" is anything I could be holding secret that might damage the relationship. If I am holding back a judgement...I think I remenber a Relationship where I didn't like the woman's clunky, black, low heal shoes --The problem is that I think she knew I didn't like the shoes as we were walking downtown (What can I do or say about those feelings?). Another example could be like "oh, she is from such and such and she is more experienced in relationships and (therfore) she won't like me. Or she is blue collar and from the south and she just won't like me/doesn't like me enough. Or she is very educated and knows lots of smart people and she won't be interested in me/thinks I am too homey or unread or intellectually slow or that I am not goal oriented and won't do much with my life. Those are examples of judgements. ...Judgements against myself in some cases. I know this stuff, but I haven't practiced it or communicated well in dating new people.

Then again ...hey, sometimes you have to stand up and hold on to the relationship (Take a Stand). Now if I can only get some internet traffic to visit my Blog...

Objective-Setting Teaches Paradigms, Politics and the World

Money, Special Interests, and Lobbies are the problem...along with strategies without substantive policies or platforms.

Many Americans are burned-out with the General Election only Months away and no sign of clear platforms. Strategic moves by Republicans and Democrats prevents straight talk. I have wondered for 25 years or more what forum would produce lucid plans and ideas.

It would be better for all of us to work on creating a forum that forces elected officials and others to put out plans for their office...I used to believe that politicians couldn't afford the TV air time, now I just think politicians should be forced to put out substantive messages on free blocks of network or cable channels. I have to admit taking all the big money out of national politics, getting rid of foreign and corporate lobbies sounds good on the surface. And it does seem that the Middle Class doesn't have a lobby. Money is the problem and removing money is the solution. Some how everyone needs representation in the Government, but wonder if that ends up shorting somebody.

I realize that through history socialist have decried capitalism or the evils of money. I am not doing that. Transparent accounting is accepted in stock markets, financial accounting and in politics. The issue here is tracking millions of dollars in small and large donations.

Living Correctly - Because We Matter

It is clear that we want to live Correctly - because we matter to those that we touch.

Ideas are power. And our example in the world is observed by all our family, childeren, friends and their childeren, strangers, work mates, who ever sees us. I have to qualify that statement and say that we can never reach some people it seems. My point is that you never know the full influence that you make in the world.

The Goodness of Man is something within you that compels you to want your life to be positive and worthwhile. I beleive the Goodness of Man is within most of us. I believe this is True.

The Hussle and Bussle of being the most productive country on Earth, should not prevent us from realizing that feeling good is directly related to "Doing the Right Things" with our actions.

World News Leaves Us wanting to Live Correctly

Clearly, World News leaves us wanting to live "Correctly", because Individual and Group Interests will always look out for themselves and attempt to paint themselves in the best light. It is a matter of being passive living in ignorant bliss...or having to take action to understand what is happing with politics and the global world. Once we see the influence of Socialism, Conservatives, Liberalism, Unionism, Anti-Capitalism, Capitalism, Corruption, Power-Seeking, and Discrediting other interest groups or the common man...then we can step back and start to formulate and ponder what our Values really are.

I feel that in the University and in the Corporate world, goals and objectives are what matter the most. In fact, every organization these days evaluates their leaders and executives either based on a "buddy" level or on a "goals and objectives" level. So the common man is not the highest in the mind of people who have careers to make. True we have had unions, Ralph Nader, and the rise of Occupational Health and Safety to help look out for us. But every oganization has motivation to find cheaper labor either overseas or through automation.

So what are the rippling effects of Globalism?

Could American Immigration Enforcement and Policy now be influenced by Big Business and Global Out Sourcing?

Could Foriegn ownership of American Treasury Debt, American Corporations, American media, and American Real Estate be a National Security issue with regard to concerns with American Wealth, American jobs, American Retirement, American Inheritances, American Education, and American Infrastructure like Roads, Bridges, and Ports?
